Description

This is an extra large Talavera Planter hand painted in the traditional Talavera style. At the widest points it measures approx. 8 1/2" tall, 13" wide (with handles). A drainage hole is at the bottom. Each piece is made of ceramic and painted in the traditional Talavera style. Since each piece is individually hand painted by Talavera artists, no two pieces will be identical and the picture is a representation of the general painting patterns and colors used. Due to the large size, weight and shipping precautions to ensure a safe arrival, expect shipping costs to be higher. UPS Ground insurance is included in shipping costs. Talavera is an art form that has its roots starting in the 16th Century. Original styles have been influenced with Spanish, Arabic, Italian and Chinese origins. The Spaniards brought the technique to Mexico with a distinctive style that came from Talavera de la Reina, a city in the central part of Spain.
