I need step by step instructions on how to grow a blanketflower?

Every time Ive been trying to take care of a plant I've killed either by drowning or starvation, but I am determined to keep trying until it works out. This is the first Once I've tried growing something from seed. So far I have germinated 12 seeds, which are 1 / 2 to 1 inch high. Do I need the plastic water if I go over them, the amount of water? Its about 50 degrees outside is safe to remove them for a few hours a day? They are outdoor potted plants, how much should be watering once put in a pot? I think you get the point.

It's probably a little too cold for them at 50 degrees, I would not recommend as your plants are still fragile at this time. If the soil dries out for a little water but too much water is fatal. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering, but leaves some withered flowers if you want plants to self seed. Blanket flowers bloom in hot spots, dry, windy, full sun and poor soils. This is one of the longest flowering perennials. Allow the soil to look dry, cracks before watering. Water sparingly. I live in the prairies of Canada and they grow all over the place. We had a drought in our area about 4 years and while no crops left and right blanketflowers lived. Good luck, do not give up.

The tomato seeds for planting tips

Planting of the following methods of transplantation and are available for the amateur gardener who wants to grow out of the tomatoes without the use of a greenhouse.

Tomato seeds can be sown directly into a seedbed. However, this method is much more risky in temperate climates. It is only appropriate for areas that have a date of last frost in March. In all other areas, the soil is unlikely to warm the sufficient time to allow the tomato plant to develop and fruits. The soil temperature must be at least 15C (60F) at the time of planting and during germination. You can use a cloche or cold frame. This will warm the soil before planting and protecting plants in its early stages.

Using a trowel, dig a hole depth of 2.5 cm (1 inch) deep in the prepared bed. Place two seeds each nine inches in the drill and cover the seeds at a depth of 2.5 cm (1 inch). Water well if the conditions are absolutely dry.

Seedlings should emerge in about 10 days. When there are 5 cm (2 in) tall and thin with a plant every 45 to 60 cm (18 to24in).

Sowing tomato seeds indoors is one of the most common methods and produces good results. Plant each seed (two if you have a surplus) by 7.5 cm (3 inch) pot, cover lightly with potting compost. Make sure that the compost is moist but not waterlogged. Place in a warm (up to 27C or 80F) place free-kick - the seedlings should emerge in 7 to 10 days time.

Immediately this happens, move the plants to light conditions (light window is ideal), but out of direct sunlight to avoid burning the leaves. When more than one seed has been sown per pot, thin out seedlings less healthy as they are large enough to handle. When the roots begin to protrude through the base of the pot (approximately 4 weeks after sowing), the transfer of larger plants 12.5cm (5 inch) pots. The plants will be large enough to transplant outside about 7 weeks after sowing seed.

Sowing tomato seeds outdoors in pots is similar to planting seeds inside in pots with except that the containers are stored outside while the seed germinates. The advantage of planting indoors is that the space is not a limiting factor for the number of plants that have been raised.

A combination that can work well is to plant the seeds inside (where it has to be able to light) and the transfer out when the seedlings emerge.

Just before transplanting plants tomato to its final position drive a stake in the mainland of 5 cm (2 in.) from the position of the seed. Participation must be at least 30 cm (1 foot) deep on the ground and 1.2m (4 feet) above ground level - the largest field the best support.

When tomato seedlings have been started in pots, should be transplanted into their final position when about 15cm (6 inches) tall. Two to three weeks before that, the plants must be acclimated.

For each plant, dig a hole (45 cm / 18 inches apart) in bed at the same depth as the pot and water if conditions are absolutely dry. The ease of plant pot, keeping the root ball undisturbed as possible. Place in the hole and fill around the plant with soil. The soil should be slightly higher than in the pot.
