How do you keep a patio clear of green algae type growth after it has been jet washed?

We have a concrete patio area with a slight fall so that rainwater does not stand on it. However, a few weeks after cleaning green algae type growth appears and after a few months it requires jet washing again. The patio is in sunlight in the morning but shaded in the afternoon.
